Therapy and Coaching for Teens and Adolescents in Austin Texas

We understand that your children are what matter most in life.  We know, because we are parents too.  In fact, if you ask any grandparent, they will likely tell you that raising their children and helping with their grandchildren was/is the most impactful and rewarding work they’ve ever done.  As we age and life’s wisdom begins to reveal itself, we don’t wish we spent more days at work.  We wish we had more time with our children, especially when they were still living at home!

Our goal is to help you make this time with your child as enjoyable as possible.   We have many tools to help smooth out the bumps in the road, and help you and your child manage the stress and chaos of these teenage years.

Our philosophy in working with teenagers and adolescents begins and ends with treating them as adults, holding them accountable, and respecting them as equals.  We firmly believe that they already have all the resources they need within them.  Our job is to help bring out those resources, so they feel empowered and able to handle what has them coming into our office in the first place.

We also have advanced tools to deal with past trauma and abuse if that’s necessary.  However, it’s important to note that we see teenagers, just like adults, in that even if they have been victimized in the past, we will do everything in our power to help them release the victim mentality.  Step one with any client with a victim mentality is to move them back into an empowered perspective, where they see themselves having the power to create the outcomes they want in their lives.

The teenage years are a defining time in everyone’s life.  It’s a time where a little help from a gifted mentor or therapist, can open up more opportunities and pathways and ultimately set them on a better course.
